What Is A Playful, Engaging, Persuasive Web Site?

What Is A Playful, Engaging, Persuasive Web Site?

An interesting discussion has been kicked off by Kim over at Cre8asiteforums.com – what types of website should be emotionally engaging, which should be minimalist, clean, “professional”? And what is meant by “professional style” in web design? A site for Children will look very different from one for stock brokers, but both will surely be [...]

The author in question is Tracie Johanson. According to her bio on Associatedcontent.com, “Tracie Johanson [...]

What are wiki’s and how they work

A wiki is a type of website that allows the visitors themselves to easily add, remove and otherwise edit and change some available content, sometimes without the need for registration. This ease of interaction and operation makes a wiki an effective tool for collaborative authoring. The term wiki can also refer to the collaborative software [...]

How to create your own simple web pages for free

Creating your own website is actually incredibly easy, and can be done very cheaply. To create your own site you need just four things:
1. An internet service provider – although in theory you could set one up from a cybercafe if you really wanted.
2. A web host – your ISP may provide some space for [...]

More grief from website building

Well, finally realised where I was going wrong with NVU and my pages. Needless to say, loads of work to do. I was building pages in Strict HTML which should have been transitional. Lots of faffing around, but getting them sorted. At least much fewer errors on each page.
