I just used Blekko for the third or fourth time today and instead of getting their search engine I get the following message:

There are an unusual number of requests coming from this IP address. To protect our users, we can’t process any more requests from this IP address right now. Try again later.

Maybe their whole system is just having a few problems and this is the default response? I am a little shocked that I got this message, as I would assume that this is the type of response they give to people running automated queries. I have a dedicated IP address from my ISP so am pretty sure that nobody else is running any requests.
I dropped them a mail to request more information and am awaiting their reply. Let’s just hope that they have not blocked my IP address completely! If they have then I will have to re-write those articles about life after Yahoo! Site Explorer and recommend another service.

Hang on, if I go direct to Blekko it is OK. I get the error when I use the link on the SEOBook toolbar for Firefox. Maybe the toolbar has been blocked by Blekko?
ah, no again. It seems that the inbound links option is still blocked for me. Tsk.
Blekko advised that this was just a temporary status while they were improving their services for the increased demand. If you now hit the Blekko button on the SEOBook toolbar (or the inbound link button on Blekko) you will be told, “You must be logged in to view SEO data”. So get an account and get link checking!
